avr23.zip file empty

I’m one of our new CTE coordinators for Fort Worth ISD and we have a plethora of teachers that will be competing this season in the VRC. We seem to have run into an issue with the “avr23.zip” file from Software | Bell AVR Documentation

When downloading and then trying to unzip the file so that we can Flash it to the SD card, the folder says that it is empty. We’ve attempted this on the district teacher devices and then I went to our technology department and had them download it on one of their devices with administrative rights to be sure and we’re still getting an empty folder even though the file size says 11GB. Can you please confirm that the download link is correct and get back to me at your earliest convenience?

Not much help here but I did want you to know that we’ve had that same issue and havent found a resolution. Hipefylly someone can assist with this.

Hello, I am Sebastian Tagle, a senior at Robstown Early College High School for team 78867A.

In your post you’re referring to “avr23.zip”, which is the title of the link posted on ’Software/Flashing the SD Card’ but the actual file name is “avr23new.zip”. I am unsure if the actual compressed file you downloaded is the new version but after personal inspection, I have successfully downloaded the specified file both on 9/21 & today 10/14.

We flashed our SD on 9/21 & were able to get through the software installation process of the AVR drone with no major issues so I can assure you the link I am about to provide is valid
https://avr2023storage.blob.core.windows.net/avr-drone/avr23new.zip

At the time of writing this, I installed & extracted from this link to double-check that nothing had changed and was able to replicate my 9/21 results.

The file was 11 GB however, it was not empty; perhaps it could be an issue with your system/device if persistent. I am on a Windows 10, personal desktop( No Anti Virus & No District Regulation ), WinRAR( archiver extractor tool ), and imaged it on a 64 GB Micro SD card ( file extracts to 60gbs ) from Walmart using the linked ’Software/Flashing the SD Card’ process.

Also I would like to note that we had issues with reusing an old MicroSD from the 22’ season and had to purchase a new one.

Hope this helps :),
best of luck to your season! - Atlas 78867A

I tried Sebastian’s tip of getting a new SD card and that worked.

This is what I got from Mr. Olson:

  1. If you try to unzip using this link https://bellflight.github.io/AVR-2022/software/flashing-the-sd-card/ on a Linux machine, you will run into errors.

If you use this link https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/cvbgschscz3z7hdbk26v9/avr23new.zip?rlkey=1rt1v2lksvd9h6gs6sriyiu16&dl=0 the file can be unzipped on a Mac/Linux.

Thanks, I believe our issue was that we are using Macs and needed a different link:
